Great Dane in Tulsa, OK

Great Dane

It breaks my heart to have to do this but I need to find a home for our Great Dane, Rhett. He's approximately two years old and plays like a puppy still. We got him with no idea of his past but I can tell you he is the sweetest guy you will meet and he's such a funny, clumsy, big guy who doesn't realize his own size. However, I will not lie when it comes to anything about him because his next home will be a permanent one or he will be returned back to me. He LOVE LOVE LOVES other dogs! I do take him to our local dog park and he plays with all of them as if he has known them forever. He is deaf. I have him enrolled at Petco for obedience classes and he struggles as do we because he needs visual cues. With time and patience I know he will do great!! He does amazing during car rides! Give him some space and guaranteed every single time this big guy will be passed out until the car stops moving and then he's up and all over the place ready to get out. He has massive separation anxiety which has become my biggest challenge because I work 40-50 hour work weeks which is why his next Home must have someone who stays at home during the day. 8 hours is too long to be crated for this guy and it's too much stress on him. If you know anything you know dogs with separation anxiety get destructive when they are left alone however I will give you his crate which is massive! You will need a truck to move it even when I take it all apart. He loves bones and KONG toys, they give him something to do. He cannot stand to not see you and he gets attached very very quickly! I can't even leave his eye sight without him freaking out which is why I'd rather someone work from home for his sake. He is big and will continue to grow so be prepared for his size, his housing needs, his weight on a leash, and the amount of food he will eat! He is up to date on shots through Vetco so those records could be pulled, his rabies vaccination, heart worm medication, and he is neutered. Along with him will come a huge 4x5x3 (estimated) crate, a Kong toy, treats, whatever food is left, a $40 food vault, his short leash, his harness, his collar, and his heart worm medicine. I know he is beautiful but please do not even think to get him for his looks as I want to make sure he is going to his last and final home. I will gladly meet for you to meet him but if we get passed the meeting stage and both agree it's a good match I would like for you to see him in his natural habitat at my house so you know how he acts without being distracted by traveling around and you can understand how he will be at home so you can see his anxiety first hand (this can be skipped if you feel like you can handle him).I will make you sign a statement saying that if you are unable to keep or care for him for whatever reason then he is to be returned to me immediately. I'm sorry if I sound rude, I don't intend to be, but I want what is best for him. Before emailing me about him do know that Great Danes are not cheap and neither are his accessories, his vetting, and his food. His Heartworm medication alone was $100, his crate was $215, so please keep these things in mind as we are asking $750. Serious inquiries only!
